Glove Use and Care

Black gloves are distributed to the woodwind and brass sections. One pair is issued at the start of the season and another pair distributed at a later date. For woodwinds, they must cleanly snip the ends on the fingers of the gloves so they can connect with the keys on their instrument better. For Drum Majors, white gloves are issued.

Each time the gloves are worn, they should be left out to air dry. Gloves can be washed. They can be hand-washed in cold water with a small amount of detergent. If they are placed in a machine to wash, it should be on a gentle/delicate cycle with like colors. Lay flat and air dry. No dryer is permitted. If you use a dryer, they will shrink.
